BIO

Formed in 1990 by drummer Michele Antonio Coppola and vocalist AL Laghi, Entropy soon found their full lineup with bassist Marco Campassi and guitarist Alfredo Acampa. Quickly becoming one of the leading acts of the early ’90s “second wave of Neapolitan metal”, their explosive shows at Naples’ Hard Rock Café earned them a cult following among local metal fans.

Their first official release, the 1993 demo “Ordinary Lives,” received strong critical praise and sold over 500 copies—an impressive result for the time. The band played extensively across Italy, sharing the stage with acts such as Shoggoth, Marlene Kuntz, and Undertakers.

In 1998, Entropy released their debut full-length “Wrong Days” via Whiplash Records. After some live promotion, lineup changes forced the band into a hiatus, following the departures of Acampa and Campassi.

A few years later, Entropy returned with Stefano Ferrara (bass) and Alex Carrino (guitars), recording “What’s New… from Mars” at Kammermuzak Studios in Naples. The six-track EP gained positive feedback from fans and press, leading to festival appearances and, eventually, the return of original bassist Marco Campassi.

In 2015, the band began working with producer and multi-instrumentalist Biagio Valenti (formerly of Larsen) on new material—arguably their most powerful and intricate work to date, combining heavy energy with melodic depth, true to the Entropy trademark.

In 2024, they released the single “Box 44,” featuring “Hellcop” and a reimagined version of Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” (originally from their first demo). The track anticipated the 2025 album “Dark Signs,” out on Metal Zone Italia, which includes the controversial “Saggy and Floppy”—banned by several social platforms for its explicit lyrics—and a fierce cover of Venom’s “Black Metal.”

In 2025, Entropy will hit the road again for an Italian tour alongside Savior from Anger.
