BIO

Telling stories about the two World Wars and molding them into songs. This is what Nexus Opera do, and this moniker can be explained as a link, a musical bridge between past, present and future, in order to offer these stories as a warning, lest we forget or just for the pleasure to tell ‘em.

Nexus Opera were born in Rome back then in 2003, founded by Marco and Alessandro, two guitar players both with the passion for Heavy and Power Metal. First songs and shows date back to this period, but due to some changes in line-up and a long stop of the activities it will have to wait until 2014 for the debut album: ‘Tales from WWII’, dedicated to people and facts, more or less known, about the biggest conflict in Human history.

The album, entirely self-produced and framed in a power metal with some classical grain, gets both good reviews and criticism and gives the band the chance to spread its name into the underground scene and to play a bunch of shows with the climax as opening act for Edu Falaschi and for the Metal 4 Kids United festival.

During the centenary of the First World War outbreak, Nexus Opera start writing stuff for their new chapter. It will take more years and lineup changes than expected to finally arrive to 2020 and to complete the making of ‘La Guera Granda (The Great Call to Arms)’, the second album of the band, once again a concept but this time regarding protagonists and events of the Austro-Italian front during the Great War, the huge tragedy that marked the end of an era and of the Great Empires.

Compared with the first release, this is a step forward both on a musical level, with some symphonic and female vocals inserts and epic choirs, and on lyrics with the concept focused on the war events that involved the Kingdom of Italy from its entry into the war on 24th of May 1915 until the victory on 4th of November 1918 through battles, epic deeds, retreats, tragedies.

On September 2020 Nexus Opera sign with Revalve Records for the publishing and distribution of “La Guera Granda (The Great Call to Arms)”.
